Forget the rain, get out and ride!

Marin Man – South Downs Epic day 1

So the sun came out to play and we decided to set off. What a great day! Some brutal climbs but worth it for the views. The Rocky Ridge climbed well, even with all the baggage (like a slightly overweight mountain goat!) And on the downhills she was still an absolute blast – light enough to climb, burly enough to thrash down. Brilliant!

After several pit-stops (I had decided to fuel this trip with Guiness) and a lot of hard miles, our ever so slightly sore backsides settled down for the night in a secret spot under some trees.

Cheers to Paul for the “curry in a tin”! It was just what was needed and I couldn’t wait for the following day…
