After you’ve picked it up and commented about its low weight, the first thing you’ll notice about Marin’s Quad-link rear suspension on the trails is that it doesn’t appear to get baulked by small bumps as much as many of its conventional four bar and single pivot contemporaries. A slightly rearward axle path at the start of suspension compression means that it flows noticably better until you hit bigger rocks and lumps on the trails. When you do hit something bigger, it’s a little harsher than bikes like the FSR, but that’s also because it has less suspension travel. The Mount Vision is a very popular choice for XC racers and enduro riders, and it’s easy to see why. It’s a fast, fluid, well-specced all-rounder that happens to climb exceptionally well.
