Every month MBUK features a handful of exciting new products in their first look feature – and this month (Jan 2010), it’s the turn of the outstanding Marin CXR Carbon Hardtail.

“We’re pretty certain that the new Marin CXR Team SLX is going to be one of 2010’s most desirable XC carbon hardtails.

The race-readMBUK 246 covery rocket features a full carbon monocoque frame, complete with internal cabling, a trick double wishbone rear end and podium topping geometry.
The CXR is aimed at tackling the racetrack and relies on a lightweight but tough spec sheet to get it round a season. It comes specced with Shimano’s criminally underrated SLX groupset, a RockShox Reba SL fork fitted with Poploc, and rolls on Mavic XM117 rims.

Make no mistake – this is a flat out racing snake.”

Marin build some of the World’s best kids bikes – and the UK’s Bicycle Buyer magazine agrees in their “best-in-test” review of the fabulous 2010 Marin Bayview Trail.  Read the highlights here, and the full review in Issue 8 of The Bicycle Buyer (DEC/JAN 10).

“Marin make some classy adult bikes, but they have always had some great nippers bikes on offer for the younger, serious riders.”BBuyer-8-cover

The Ride
“The Marin is one of the lightest bikes in its class and coupled with the 21 gears, the bike is easy for a smaller rider to propel along with ease. The very controllable riding position is great for gaining confidence and riding on roads with good vision.”

The Verdict
“The Marin is very thoughtfully designed thinking of the needs of the younger performance rider. It’s light enough for long rides, tough enough for serious rides and made to a level of quality that means you won’t be replacing it until the rider has grown out of it. This is one of the best mountain bikes available for this age range, and at this price we would say the Marin is a bargain.”

“The Marin sets the performance benchmark for mountain bikes in the 8-11 year old category”

No one puts more effort and attention into their frames than Marin. Our goal is always to provide a class leading ride – and our 2010 Lucas Valley ALP bike is certainly no exception.  So, we were naturally delighted when “The Bicycle Buyer” magazine recognized the top quality of the Lucas’ frame, describing it as “sublime” BBuyer-8-cover1

“The Marin chassis really is sublime, it manages to offer a level of comfort that most bikes can’t whilst delivering highly efficient forward propulsion. Considering the price, the chassis really shines on this bike and is the best on test for its versatility of set up, quality construction and unique design.”
